LAHORE – Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh shared his observations on the current challenges faced by the Pakistan cricket team.

Singh stressed upon the crucial need for players to regain confidence, cited a significant dip in their recent performances.

He expressed his views in a recent interview.

Harbhajan Singh said, “There is no shortage of talent overall in the Pakistan team. Somewhere, the team’s confidence has been shaken,”.

He said, “In order to regain that confidence, they need to play some consistently good matches. This will help build confidence, and they need to play better cricket than they are currently playing,”.

Talking about the recent changes in captaincy, Singh attributed them to Pakistan’s underwhelming performance in the World Cup.

“The change in captaincy was a reaction to Pakistan’s poor performance in the recent matches,” said the Indian cricketer, adding that the Pakistan cricket team did not show good performance and it was the reaction of that decision.

“Timing for decisions is crucial as the delayed actions might hinder a team’s progress rather than propel it forward,” said Harbhajan Singh.

Singh specifically praised Babar Azam’s abilities but underscored the importance of recognizing and appreciating the contributions of all players in the team.

He stressed that team success is built on the collective efforts of every player.

“There is a need of a teamwork,” said Harbhajan, emphasizing upon cooperation among the players to strengthen the team and achieve victory.

“The teams do not win solely because of one player. It is the team’s overall performance that makes it strong. There is no doubt that Babar is a class player, and I hope he starts scoring runs. Other players in the team are also quality players, and they need to collaborate to strengthen the team and achieve success,” he added.
