Pakistani government’s introduction of Climate Support Levy is a major factor behind the industry-wide price hike. The tax applies to both locally assembled and imported ICE vehicles, with rates based on engine capacity 1% for vehicles up to 1300cc 2% for vehicles between 1301cc and 1800cc and 3% for vehicles above 1800cc.
Only Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) are exempt, as part of Pakistan’s broader push toward cleaner transportation alternatives.
Changan’s price revision mirrors a wider trend in Pakistan’s auto sector, with competitors like Pak Suzuki and Kia (Lucky Motor Corporation) also raising prices following the budget.
