LAHORE – A proposal has surfaced to host India’s matches at two different locations for the ICC Champions Trophy due in Pakistan in 2025.
The latest reports said that the ICC broadcasters suggested that holding India’s matches at two venues would enhance the event’s value, while staging all matches at one location may not create a positive impression.
The reports suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has no objections to hosting matches at two locations and has proposed Rawalpindi as one of the venues.
Previously, the PCB initially suggested holding all of India’s matches at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to minimize travel for broadcasters.
The Indian media reported that the proposed schedule includes three matches for India in Lahore, with one against Bangladesh on February 20 and another against New Zealand on February 23.
Pakistan and India are due to lock horns on March 1, 2025. Both teams are part of the group alongside New Zealand and Bangladesh.
