The 21st Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) Convention gets underway this Wednesday in Karachi. CHALLENGING TIMES, WINNING STRATEGIES is the highly topical theme of the Convention.
The rich content for the Day’s proceedings begins with a 9am welcome by the Host Aamir Jamil Abbasi (President MAP) followed by the highlight of the day, the Chairman FBR S.M.Shabbar Zaidi’s Keynote on the topic “Business Friendly Tax Regime, Increasing the Tax Net, and Documentation of Economy”, without doubt the front-burner issue of our times.
Following the Chairman FBR is the Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan Jameel Ahmed, speaking on “Monetary Policy and Digitization of Payment Systems,” key to Pakistan’s connectivity to the burgeoning global e-marketplace. Between 10 and 11am a high-powered CEO Panel will discuss threadbare “The New Economic Paradigm – Opportunities and Challenges.” Featuring in that bare-knuckled discourse are Ikram Sehgal (Chairman, K-Electric & Pathfinder Group Pakistan) speaking on “The Changing Face of the Great Game and Pakistan’s Pivot with Style and Speed”; Shazad Dada (CEO, Standard Chartered Bank) on “The Rising Challenge of Compliance: How is the Banking Model being Reshaped by the New AML/KYC Regimes”; Sagheer Mufti (COO, HBL) on “Transforming for a Digital Future”; Saquib H. Shirazi(CEO Atlas Honda Ltd) on “Evolution of Manufacturing Sector in Pakistan.”
