Chairman CDA inaugurates flowers show

Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Capt (Retd) Muhammad Usman on Thursday inaugurated the 41st Chrysanthemum and other Flowers Show. The National Horticultural Society of Pakistan (NHSP) organized the Autumn Flowers Show at Roseand Jasmine Garden, Islamabad. This show is being arranged by NHSP every year since 1980s and considered a colorful event of social calendar of the federal capital.

Capt (Retd) Muhammad Usman, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) inaugurated the Flower show, which will be continued till fourth of this month. While taking round of the spectacular display of flowers, Iftikhar Ahmed Awan, Chairman NHSP along with Major (Retd) Ikram ul haq Senior Vice Chairman and Dr Riaz Ali Shah Bukhari, Technical Secretary briefed the chairman CDA about various verities / classification of chrysanthemum and other autumn flowers.

While speaking on the occasion, Chairman CDA emphasized that such like shows should be organized periodically to induce horticultural activities amongst various organizations, home gardeners and to provide a platform to spectacle their expertise in the field of floriculture.

He said that youngster should actively participate such shows. He further said that the NHSP is playing a significant role in creating awareness among the people about floriculture, home gardening, landscaping and tree plantation by arranging such activities.

 

PAAF, CDA, Allama Iqbal Open University, Floriculture and landscaping Department, Govt of Punjab, CHM Rawalpindi, Kahuta Research Lab, Floral Art Society of Pakistan and Vegetable growers participated in the flower show. The prize distribution ceremony will be held at Islamabad Club on Dec 15, 2022. Trophies, shields and cash prizes will be distributed amongst the winner organizations, gardeners and individual participants.
