CEO KW&SC signs contract for new Hub canal project

Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, CEO Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has signed the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the New Hub Canal project.

The signing ceremony took place on Thursday. The event was attended by key figures including ShoaibShafiq, Director of Wah Construction Limited Private; Colonel Sabahuddin Chaudhry; Consultant 3G Sultan Dogar; Project Director of Hub Canal Sikandar Ali; and Chief Engineer of Sewage E&M Sewage Syed Sardar Shah. According to the Water Corporation spokesperson, the project encompasses the construction of the New Hub Canal and the rehabilitation of the Old Hub Canal.

The project also involves upgrading the Hub Pumping Station, rising mains, and the Hub Filter Plant from 80 MGD to 100 MGD. The total cost of the project is fixed at Rs 12.76 billion, with an expected completion time of one year. The project is set to significantly improve water supply to Karachi, particularly in District West and Keamari.
