Cement dispatches in Pakistan rose 11.14% in April 2026 to 3.89 million tons, up from 3.50 million tons in the same month last year.
Data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) showed that domestic sales drove this growth, increasing by 20.17% to 3.217 million tons from 2.677 million tons a year earlier. In contrast, exports decreased by 18.22%, falling to 673,058 tons from 823,032 tons.
In the northern region, mills supplied 2.662 million tons of cement to local markets in April, up 18.25% from 2.251 million tons last year. No exports were recorded from the North during the month, bringing total dispatches from the region to 2.662 million tons—an increase of 12.52% compared to 2.365 million tons previously.
Southern-based mills delivered 555,104 tons of cement to domestic markets in April, marking a significant 30.35% increase from 425,869 tons a year ago. However, exports from the South declined by 5.01% to 673,058 tons from 708,565 tons. Overall, total dispatches from the region rose 8.26% to 1.228 million tons, up from 1.134 million tons last year.
During the first ten months of the current fiscal year, total cement dispatches reached 42.396 million tons, reflecting a 9.83% increase from 38.600 million tons in the corresponding period last year. Domestic consumption rose by 11.33% to 34.785 million tons, while exports edged up 3.47% to 7.611 million tons.
Northern mills recorded domestic sales of 29.014 million tons during this period, up 12.56% from 25.778 million tons. However, exports from the region fell sharply by 35.39% to 797,679 tons, compared to 1.234 million tons last year. Total dispatches from the North increased by 10.36% to 29.812 million tons.
Meanwhile, southern mills posted domestic dispatches of 5.771 million tons, a 5.56% rise from 5.467 million tons last year. Exports from the region grew by 11.31% to 6.813 million tons, compared to 6.121 million tons previously. Combined dispatches from the South reached 12.584 million tons, up 8.60% year-on-year.
An APCMA spokesperson expressed optimism about improved geopolitical conditions in the coming weeks, which could support global economic recovery and ease energy-related uncertainties. The industry is also hopeful that the upcoming federal budget will introduce business-friendly measures to enhance competitiveness.
