Retail cement prices witnessed slight fluctuations over the past week, according to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. For the week ending January 1, the average retail price of a bag of cement in northern cities fell to Rs 1,387, which is s0.27% dip compared to the previous week when it was Rs 1,391.
Meanwhile, prices in the southern cities remained steady, with the average retail price holding firm at Rs 1,446.

With cement being a key building material, the slight dip in northern cities could offer some relief to ongoing projects, while southern regions continue to face high but stable prices.
Cement dispatches in Pakistan saw modest growth last month, reaching 4.347 million tons (+1.47%), driven by a 6.42% rise in domestic sales to 3.725 million tons, while exports fell sharply by 20.66% to 621,685 tons.
Northern mills led domestic growth, dispatching 3.153 million tons (+5.56%), all for local sales, whereas southern mills’ dispatches declined 7.94%, with domestic sales of 572,263 tons and exports down 7.14%. During the first half of the fiscal year (July–December 2025), total dispatches rose 9.67% to 25.783 million tons, with domestic demand up 13.11%, highlighting strong local consumption despite continued weakness in exports.
