Government of Pakistan has, through an order, made it mandatory for the passengers travelling abroad to declare how much dollar or other foreign currencies they would be carrying along with them.
All airports administrations have started implementing such orders under which every adult passenger would fill a Currency Declaration Form (CDF) in case he would be carrying 10,000 US dollars and every non-adult passenger should fill the same in case he would be carrying 5000 US dollars.
In fact, the CDF initiative has been launched on orders of the Prime minister Imran Khan to meet the criterion of the Financial Action Task Force and hence on directives of the federal board of revenue (FBR) Pakistan Customs have established CDF counters on all airports. This step is taken seriously to check the money laundering, which Pakistan is asked and is determined to control and then eradicate it.
It has been learned that strict legal actions would be charged on those who would insert wrong information in the CDF, which is meant solely to curb the menace of terrorism financing and money laundering.
