ISLAMABAD – Horrific CCTV footage surfaced online, showing moment an air conditioning (AC) plant exploded inside Supreme Court of Pakistan’s cafeteria, triggering massive fire that left one person dead and 11 others injured.

The clip captures maintenance workers carrying out repairs moments before a sudden flash engulfs the room, followed by thick smoke and chaos as people rush to safety.
Rescue teams reached site within minutes and started emergency operations, while police cordoned off the affected area. According to officials, the blast occurred due to a gas leak in the AC system that had been reported days earlier.
Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, after visiting the site, confirmed that the deceased was an AC technician who suffered 80 percent burns. The rest of injured, including several workers, are being treated at PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals, with two reported in critical condition.
Authorities sealed cthe afeteria and started probe to determine whether negligence or technical failure caused the explosion.
