CCPO recommends Court-martial type punishments for police

The police force will now also have a court-martial on the patron of Armed forces, in this regard CCPO Omar Sheikh wrote a letter to IG Punjab for court martial in police.
According to the text of the letter, a court-martial-style system of punishment should also be introduced in the Armed Forces.
Strict rules will have to be enacted for better discipline and efficient service delivery in the police.
Transparency in court-martial-style amendments is a matter of time.
More than 25 to 30 percent of the convicts were sentenced, according to a five-year record but despite the punishments meted out to the police no improvement was witnessed in the force.
The judiciary, the media and the public complain of police behavior. Punishment under current law is not improving.
