About the author: Brigadier Naseem served in the Pakistan Army and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) from 1969 to 2010, combining roles in an elite Self-Propelled Artillery regiment and more than two decades in ISI. He participated in significant security operations, including the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, the Afghan civil war, and post-9/11 security changes, all impacting Pakistan’s national security. Renowned as a hardcore intelligence operative, he managed ongoing security issues with India and spent 23 years in covert operations. His tenure as a diplomat in Dubai broadened his understanding of geo-strategic manoeuvres. Post-retirement, he continued his security-related work as an entrepreneur in Dubai’s private security industry. His book reflects his extensive professional experience and provides an insightful narrative on South Asian military history and Pakistan’s security challenges.
