A bloody shootout between the insurgents and the security forces in North Waziristan on the night between Wednesday and Thursday led to the martyrdom of three soldiers including a captain of the Pakistan Army. Two terrorists were also mowed down in the retaliatory fire by the forces.

A Pakistan Army captain was among three soldiers who were martyred and two terrorists killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan tribal district Wednesday late night. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to ISPR the security forces conducted an IBO in Dosali areas of North Waziristan district where the insurgents offered resistance.

During the intense fire, two terrorists were killed and a Pakistan Army captain Faheem along with two other soldiers embraced martyrdom.

Captain Faheem, Sepoy Shafi and Sepoy Naseem embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire during the operation.

The security forces are also reported to have kicked off search and net operation for the miscreants responsible for assault on the forces team.
