ISLAMABAD – A notable milestone for Pakistan’s cricketing future was celebrated at Serena Hotel in Islamabad with the unveiling of the Lake View LQ Smart High Performance Centre, an initiative jointly presented by Capital Smart City, HRL Group, and Lahore Qalandars.
Located within Capital Smart City, Islamabad, the centre represents a significant step in expanding opportunities for developing and professional cricketers.
The ceremony was attended by Mr Zahid Rafiq, Chairman of HRL Group, and Mr Jahanzaib Zahid, Vice Chairman of HRL Group, whose leadership has been central in shaping the direction and scope of the initiative. They were joined by Mr Rana Atif, CEO Lahore Qalandars, PSL CEO Mr Salman Naseer, members of the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team, officials from the Zimbabwe Cricket Board, and Pakistan’s leading players, including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Sikandar Raza, and Fakhar Zaman. The gathering reflected broad support from across the cricketing community.
The newly unveiled Lake View LQ Smart High Performance Centre aims to enhance player development through a structured environment that combines contemporary coaching methods, sports science integration, performance analytics, and athlete support systems. The location within Capital Smart City offers a setting designed around long-term learning, performance discipline, and an atmosphere conducive to athlete focus.
Shaped under the guidance of Mr Jahanzaib Zahid, the initiative demonstrates HRL Group’s continued investment in supporting national talent through purposeful development efforts. His involvement has focused on ensuring that the centre contributes positively to Pakistan cricket and aligns with modern training philosophies.
The event also highlighted the ongoing strategic partnership between Capital Smart City, HRL Group, and Lahore Qalandars, reflecting a strong alignment of vision and commitment to fostering cricket excellence. The partnership brings together infrastructure, expertise, and a long-term approach to player growth.
Lahore Qalandars announced they will participate in the following 10 editions of the Pakistan Super League, reinforcing stability and offering fans and players a clear sense of continuity.
