TORONTO – For the first time, the Canadian government decided to reduce the number of temporary residents for the first time.

The Canada’s government announced a decision to reduce the number of temporary workers with work permits and temporary residents for the first time.

The international media reported the development by citing the statement of the Canada’s immigration minister.C

anadian Immigration Minister Marc Miller stated that there would be a reduction of 5 to 6.2 percent in the number of temporary residents in the first phase.

Furthermore, Canada’s Minister for Employment stated in a press conference that the government is also reducing the number of foreign workers, with 20 to 30 percent of foreign workers potentially being included in businesses except for the agricultural sector.

According to the media reports, the number of temporary residents in Canada exceeded 2.5 million, which is 6.2 percent of the Canadian population.

Earlier, Canada’s Immigration Minister had indicated that restrictions would be imposed on the entry of foreign workers into the country from 2024.
