Canada’s drug regulator approved Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine, the fourth such shot to be given the green light, as Ottawa brought forward deliveries of millions of Pfizer doses.

To people watching at home right now who are looking forward to getting their shot – your turn is coming,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a televised briefing.

Trudeau also said Pfizer had agreed to accelerate deliveries, shipping a total of 3.5 million doses ahead of schedule by the end of May.

Deliveries to Canada have been slow – lagging many other developed nations – even though it has ordered more doses per capita than any other country.
