LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 111 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in different parts of the Punjab capital on Wednesday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 32 premises in Faisal Town, Garden Town and Gulberg, 34 in Subzazar Housing Scheme, and 45 in Shah Jamal, Gulshan-e-Ravi and Samanabad for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include Cakes & Bakes, Sana Sarah’s Salon & Studio, Dollar Pound Store, Glorious Grammar School, The Nation Academy, Creative Grammar School, Pak Hospital, medical stores, grocery stores, food outlets, offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
According to the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against land grabbers, encroachments, violation of bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in the Punjab capital.
