A large-scale airport emergency exercise was conducted at Begum Nusrat Bhutto (BNB) Airport Sukkur with an aim to assess the effectiveness of the airport’s emergency response plan and ensure the readiness of the RFFS (Rescue and Fire Fighting Services) and paramedical staff of the airport.
The preparedness and quick response in emergency situations were successfully tested with the first responders arriving within two minutes and extinguishing the fire within one minute. SamiuddinSiddiqui, Commissioner Sukkur, was the guest of honor at the event with the Base Commander PAF Base Sukkur also gracing the occasion. Commissioner Siddiqui praised the professionalism of the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) personnel and credited Director General of CAA for regularly holding such drills at airports, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and preparedness.
Airport functionaries and district management heads were also present during the event. A debrief was conducted at the end to identify areas for further improvement with a goal to enhance the emergency response capabilities.
