Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday strongly condemned unprovoked firing by the Indian army on civilian population at the Line of Control (LoC).
In a statement, he expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the martyrdom of two citizens in the firing and extended sympathies to the bereaved families. He also prayed for early recovery of the injured.
The CM said that India was blatantly violating human rights and all international laws by targeting the civilian population. Targeting of civilian population is the most nefarious act of the Indian army, he added.
He said that India should not remain in any misconception as armed forces of Pakistan had the fullest capability to give a befitting reply to the Indian aggression and 22 crore Pakistanis are firmly standing with their armed forces, added the chief minister.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and other line departments to remain fully vigilant and alert in wake of earthquake shocks. They should be fully prepared and complete all the arrangements, he added. He further directed that complete information should be collected about possible damages after the earthquake and government and private buildings should also be inspected. The PDMA should ensure advance arrangements in the wake of possible tremors, he added. The chief minister also sought a report from the provincial administration.

Nine new hospitals have been started in the province during one year. Nine thousand beds are being included in the hospitals. New hospitals are being constructed after 28 years. Health budget has been increased by 27 percent. I understand problems of the common man and solve them, he added.
He was presiding over a high-level meeting held at Commissioner Office DG Khan on Friday to review the progress on various development projects, public welfare schemes, law & order situation and cleanliness arrangements.
The chief minister directed to complete the link roads of DG Khan at the earliest. He further directed to take effective measures to ensure the betterment in law & order situation. He said that joint check posts should be established with the mutual cooperation of police and border military police. All necessary measures should be taken for the betterment of law & order situation in Fort Munro, Taunsa and other areas.
Usman Buzdar directed to install cameras for curbing the incidents of theft and to cope with other crimes. He said that complaints of bribery of traffic police should immediately be redressed.
