Buzdar inaugurates Dialysis Unit-II at PKLI CM assures more resources to improve healthcare system

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar visited Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKLI) here on Friday and inaugurated the dialysis unit-II where 36 modern dialysis machines have been provided. He also inspected various clinics and inquired after the patients. Talking on occasion, the Chief Minister said that quality healthcare facilities have been provided in the PKLI.
The remaining floors of the hospital building will be completed by the end of this year while six more operation theatres will be made functional by the mid of October. He informed that three liver transplants and 31 kidney transplants have been conducted in the PKLI this year. 475 beds will be added after the completion of three floors, he said. He assured that resources will be provided to improve the healthcare system.
The chief minister directed the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) to expedite their work. Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education briefed that around 48 thousand patients have been treated in the OPD and dialysis of 9257 patients have been conducted from January to September this year. Provincial health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Secretary Specialized Health and Medical education, Dean PKLI and others were also present on the occasion.
CM Message on World Teachers’ Day: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said that teachers enlighten their students with the power of knowledge. In his message on world teachers’ day, Usman Buzdar said that teachers have been given their due status in the new Pakistan. Respecting teachers is a collective obligation as they are the pride of the nation and a benefactor of all of us. Usman Buzdar paid tributes to his teachers who guided him during the period of education and said that teachers have played an important role in his life.
He maintained that the nations that give respect and honour to their teachers bring laurel home. Today, we should reiterate this commitment that the respect and honor of the teachers will be ensured and it is also the purpose of this day to sensitize the people about the importance of teachers in overall national development, he added.
CM takes notice of death of a boy: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of death of a 13 years old boy after being trapped in Mayo Hospital’s elevator and directed to investigate the matter. He has sought a report from Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education. He has directed to take action against the persons responsible for this negligence. He has also extended sympathies to the bereaved family.
CM condoles the death of the mother of Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the death of the mother of Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council.
He prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
