A group of men hurled disreputable slogans at Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI chairman Imran Khan, as she reached Adiala jail on Monday for the hearing of the £190 million settlement case.

The protesters intercepted her vehicle and chanted “black magic unacceptable”.

The wife of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief was expected at the jail Monday for the hearing of her interim bail request in the £190 million settlement case.

At the last hearing the court remanded Imran — who is already in prison — to National Accountability Bureau’s custody concerning the graft investigation. NAB was instructed to present its report in court by Monday.

On Sunday, a NAB team conducted continuous interrogation sessions of the PTI chairman at the Adiala Jail for 13 hours – 9:30am till 10:45pm. The NAB team completed the investigation against the PTI chairman.

The £190 million (approximately Rs60 billion) settlement case pertains to the money of a property tycoon being laundered and caught by the UK authorities during Imran’s government in 2019. The UK government had informed the Pakistani authorities regarding the money being caught.

The May 9 arrest of the ex-prime minister came in this case for the first time.
