LONDON –  Zarah Sultana, a Pakistani-born member of the British Parliament, strongly criticized Prime Minister Keir Starmer for his commitment to supplying arms to Israel.

The international news agencies reported Zarah Sultana addressed her own party’s Prime Minister Starmer, advising him to do everything that is morally and legally right.

She further stated that the most ethical and constitutional action at this time would be to impose a complete ban on the sale of all weapons to Israel, including F-35 aircraft.

Member of Parliament Zarah Sultana emphasized that before making any decisions, one should consider where and against whom Israel will use these weapons.

The Pakistani-born MP described the international community’s criminal silence on Israeli aggression as a regrettable attitude, stating that there is an urgent need for serious efforts toward a ceasefire.

Zarah Sultana is also a member of the ruling party, but she is currently facing a six-month suspension from Labour Party due to her differing viewpoint.

Just two days ago, French President Emmanuel Macron called for a halt to the supply of weapons to Israel after its attack on Lebanon, stating that the world’s priority should now be to return to a political solution.

In response, earlier in the day, the British prime minister rejected the demand to halt arms supplies to Israel in parliament, saying that “we should not make any mistakes; the region cannot bear another war, as it has already endured a year of conflict since October 7,”.

He urged addressing the issue at its root.
