Brazilian energy and automation firm WEG will establish a factory in Türkiye with a €28 million ($29 million) investment to produce industrial gearboxes, a power transmission device used in mechanical systems.
The factory, which will be built in the Aegean province of Manisa, aims to meet growing demand for the product while increasing the production capacity of the firm.
The facility will span an area of 12,000 square meters (roughly 129,170 square feet) and is expected to integrate sales operations with WEG’s gearbox factory in Austria and industrial electric motors produced in Türkiye.
WEG Group Türkiye, its domestic subsidiary, currently employs 750 people in the country, with this figure expected to rise by 150 via new job opportunities created by the industrial gearbox factory.
Ahmet Burak Daglioglu, president of the Turkish Presidency’s Investment Office, told Anadolu that the country continues to attract foreign investors due to its strategic location, skilled workforce, and strong industrial infrastructure.—AA
