Acting Punjab Governor Ch Pervaiz Elahi on Monday said that the industries should increase exports by deeming it as national duty. “Increased exports will boost foreign exchange and reduce unemployment, bring about prosperity for both the country and the industry besides helping the national economy stand on its own feet.”
Ch Pervaiz Elahi stated during a meeting with a delegation of Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by Ch Waheeduddin. The delegation called on Ch Pervaiz Elahi at Governor’s House Lahore on Monday. The delegation apprised the acting governor about the problems being faced by the furniture and poultry industry.
Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that the industries should increase exports deeming it as national duty as increased exports will boost foreign exchange. “Boost exports will help reduce unemployment and take the national economy to stability and self-reliance.”
The Acting Punjab governor said that the trade community has always played important role in controlling economic situation of the country. “Because of Corona every segment of the country is victim of economic difficulties and has weakened the national economy to a dangerous level. Corona pandemic has left its negative impacts on economy all over the world, thanks to Almighty Allah Pakistan has succeeded to some extent in countering Corona negative effects.
Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that the government has taken various measures to boost industry and bring in foreign investment. He said that CPEC has also open up new vistas for the promotion of trade and industry in Pakistan.
He assured the delegation of support and efforts for resolution to their problems.
Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ch Waheeduddin said that the government should resolve our problems so that we not only compete with Corona but also boost national economy, Ch Pervaiz Elahi has always solvers traders problems.
Meanwhile, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi called for fixing the wheat support price at Rs2,000 per 40 kilograms. He was talking to PML-N office-bearers from Narowal, former Tehsil Nazim of Shakkargarh Chaudhry Mohammad Ahmad Shanghran and Tehrik Labbaik candidate Nasir Chohan who called on him and Senator Kamil Ali Agha at their residenc. The visitors announced joining the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) along with their colleagues.
On this occasion, Afzaal Virk Rana, Rana Iftikhar, Nasir Iqbal Khan, Malik Shakeel Awan Advocate, Younus Malik, Mohammad Shehzad Advocate, Salman Qureshi Advocate and Makhdoom Naseem Advocate were also present. Pervaiz Elahi said that wheat price should be fixed at Rs2,000 per 40 kilograms.
