The administration of Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi has received a bomb threat from an anonymous caller who claimed to be from Afghanistan.
The caller warned that he would blow up the jail in three days and said that five terrorists had already attacked Machh Jail.
The jail authorities informed the law enforcement agencies, the Rawalpindi police and the administration about the threat.
DIG Jail wrote a letter to CPO Rawalpindi expressing his concerns and requesting to increase the security of Adiala Jail, which is a sensitive facility housing important political figures. He also asked for patrolling by Elite Force inside and outside the jail and search operations in the vicinity of the jail.
The letter said that the threat was received yesterday and urged for immediate action to prevent any untoward incident.
