An explosion shook the vicinity outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office in Karachi on late Friday, as received information from police sources. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Sajid Sadozai, no casualties were reported, and the bomb disposal squad was swiftly deployed to assess the situation. Sadozai revealed that the explosive material was concealed in a shopping bag along the wall of the ECP office in Karachi’s red zone area.

While the nature and intensity of the blast were under investigation, it was confirmed that no ball bearings were found in the explosive material. Updates on the incident will follow as authorities work to uncover further details. Expressing concern, Saduzai speculated that the blast might be part of a wider conspiracy aimed at instilling fear and chaos. As a precautionary measure, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has been summoned to the scene, underscoring the gravity of the situation and the city’s ongoing security challenges.
