BJP Sarpanch shot dead in Baramulla

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, unidentified gunmen killed a Sarpanch affiliated with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday evening.

Officials told the media that the BJP sarpanch identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bangroo was shot dead by the unidentified gunmen in an orchard at Goush-Bugh in Pattan area of the district.

Meanwhile, Indian troops and police cordoned off the area and launched searches to nab the attack-ers.

Three Indian soldiers were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Shopian district.

A cab carrying soldiers from Chowgam Camp of 44 Rashtriya Rifles was on its way to take part in a cordon and search operation in Badigam area of the district. The driver lost control over the vehicle and it skidded off the road at Kanipora leading to injuries to four troops.

The injured soldiers were shifted to District Hospital Shopian where two among them identified as Havaldar Ram Avtar and Sepoy Pawan Gautam succumbed while three others were evacuated to 92 Base Army Hospital Srinagar. One more soldier succumbed to his injuries at the Army Hospital.

Meanwhile, Indian troops martyred four Kash-miri youth during the cordon and search operation in Badigam.—KMS
