With digital welfare payments, BISP is introducing wallet-based system that will automatically link beneficiaries to banks and mobile wallets, allowing them to receive and use their funds more securely and conveniently than ever before.
Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) rolled out new digital wallet system that will change how millions of beneficiaries receive their financial assistance. The initiative is aimed at making payments more secure, transparent, and convenient while reducing reliance on cash transactions.
Do Beneficiaries Need to Apply for a Wallet Account?
No, BISP beneficiaries do not need to visit any office, submit an application, or fill out any forms, and it will automatically use database to link eligible beneficiaries with a designated bank account or mobile wallet and will notify them once the process is completed.
Banks and Wallet Services for BISP payments
The new system will work through several major financial institutions and digital payment platforms, including:
- HBL
- Bank Alfalah
- Bank of Punjab
- HBL Connect
- JazzCash
- Easypaisa
Beneficiaries will be assigned to one of these services based on their district.
How Will Beneficiaries get their payments?
Before accessing funds, beneficiaries must complete biometric verification through thumbprint authentication. This step is mandatory for both account activation and payment collection.
After successful verification, funds can be accessed through Bank branches, ATMs, and authorized BISP retailer outlets.
Yes. One of the key features of the new system is the ability to conduct cashless transactions. Beneficiaries will be able to transfer money to other beneficiaries, send funds through their mobile wallets, make purchases directly from designated grocery stores and merchants.
Next BISP Installment
The wallet-SIM integration process is still underway. Authorities linked release of next BISP installment to the completion of this process. As a result, the date for the next payment cycle has not yet been announced.
