Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of Sindh Assembly (MPA) Khurram Sher Zaman, known for his fiery speeches, has earned a respected position in a very short period of time. Whether it is identifying public issues or any other task for his party, he always stays ahead with high determination. We caught up with him to ask a few candid questions about his life and politics.
How did you start your political journey? Khurram Sher Zaman: I still remember the public gathering of Prime Minister Imran Khan in Lahore. I was impressed after hearing his speech and at the moment I decided to step into politics under the leadership of Imran Khan. I will be whenever he wants me to be.
Haleem Adil Sheikh replaced Firdous Shamim as opposition leader in Sindh Assembly. What’s your take on it? Khurram Sher Zaman: Whatever decisions Prime Minister Imran Khan takes, have a positive approach. We always abide by the decisions he makes. Haleem Adil, with a strong personality, can give Sindh government a tough time in the provincial assembly.
Should there be another census in Karachi? Khurram Sher Zaman: Yes, there should be another census not only in Karachi but in the whole of Pakistan. Our leadership has already announced a strategy in this regard and the process would be started as soon as possible.
Is there any threat to PTI from the opposition? Khurram Sher Zaman: Not a chance, the opposition is in danger. They have to return the looted money of the people of Pakistan and will face legal punishment for destroying the country. Even if re-elections take place, Prime Minister Imran Khan will win by a clear majority.
How do you give time to your family? Khurram Sher Zaman: In the current busy schedule, I can hardly give time to my family. I leave home at 10 in the morning and return after 11pm.
