Bike with grenade found outside court Man attempts suicide in court against wife’s separation

A heart-broken man attempted to end his life by jumping off from the roof of district courts here in the City on Thursday.

The people present close by ran to him and prevented him from jumping down the roof. The man, identified as: Abdur Rahman, took the extreme step after his wife, Saba, gave a statement in the court that she wanted to go with her parents and not with her husband.

Abdur Rahman who married by choice said he loved his wife very much and could not think of living without her. “That’s why I tried to end my life,” he added.

Meanwhile, the police cordoned off the area near sessions court after a hand grenade found planted in a motorbike near the court on Thursday.

The police officers rushed to the scene after getting report about the grenade in a motorcycle. The police started snap-checking, while the area was being screened with metal detectors, officials said.

The police launched a hunt for the suspect who left the bike with the “bomb” in the court’s vicinity. The police have sought CCTV footage from the Safe City and other surveillance cameras to get a clue about the culprit.

A spokesperson of the police operations wing later said that the gas gun grenade was found from the motorbike near the sessions court. The gas gun grenade used to disperse the mob, according to the spokesperson.
