BHU found locked, staff absent from duty



A team of local administration stunned to see the Basic Health Unit (BHU) Kot Sondaki which was established to carter the need of rural population closed, doors were locked and all the deputed staff absent from duty during official working hours and instructed the concerned health authorities to take departmental disciplinary action against the concerned staff accordingly.

The residents of area especially female patients were drawing the attention of the local administration as well as health department towards the closure, random absence from the duty of the staff deployed at the center.

They were of the view that the concerned staff allegedly run their own private clinics during duty hours and remain absent from their official duties. The residents of the area blamed that the doctor remain absent from the duty.

A team of local administration headed by assistant commissioner Muhammad Arif Qureshi on public complaints paid surprise visit at basic health unit (BHU) Kot Sondaki and found the gates of the centre locked. The all three-member staff comprising a doctor, dispenser and lady health worker (LHW) deputed at the center to carter the needs of the rural population of union council.
