Phone that once dominated budget segment have become more expensive, leaving buyers wondering whether they can still find a true value-for-money phone between Rs60,000-Rs80,000.
The good news is that despite the price hikes, several phones still offer decent hardware, AMOLED displays, capable cameras, and even 5G connectivity without crossing the Rs80,000 mark.

Redmi Note 15
For buyers with a budget close to Rs. 60,000, Redmi Note 15 remains one of the strongest contenders. Selling for around Rs. 62,000 after discounts, Xiaomi’s latest mid-ranger combines a modern AMOLED display with the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chipset, making it a solid choice for everyday performance and casual gaming. The phone features a 108MP primary camera with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), an in-display fingerprint scanner, and support for smooth 60fps gameplay.
Infinix Note 50
Although officially discontinued, the Infinix Note 50 remains one of the most attractive smartphones if you can still find it in stock. Available at approximately Rs. 70,000–72,000, it stands out by offering premium features rarely seen in this price bracket. It is the only phone in the category to feature 30W wireless charging, alongside 45W wired charging, a premium aluminum-and-glass construction, and a 144Hz AMOLED flat display.
Powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate, the Note 50 delivers smooth gaming performance while its 50MP OIS-enabled camera produces reliable photos and videos. Although its 13MP front camera isn’t class-leading, the phone’s overall package remains among the strongest in the segment.
Tecno Camon 40 Pro
If the Infinix Note 50 isn’t available, the Tecno Camon 40 Pro deserves equal attention. It shares much of the same hardware, including the Helio G100 Ultimate chipset and 50MP OIS camera, but differentiates itself with a curved AMOLED display and an additional ultra-wide camera.
While it misses out on wireless charging, the extra camera sensor gives photography enthusiasts more flexibility.
Honor X
Battery-conscious users may find the Honor X-series difficult to ignore. After discounts, the phone sells for roughly Rs. 69,000–70,000 and features a 7000mAh battery, the largest among the recommended devices. Combined with 45W fast charging, it offers outstanding endurance for heavy users. The phone also sports a 120Hz AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 108MP camera with OIS.
Performance is powered by the Snapdragon 6S Gen 4, which is suitable for everyday tasks and light gaming, though it isn’t as powerful as some MediaTek-powered competitors. Video recording is also limited to 1080p at 30fps, making it less appealing for content creators.
Finding a capable 5G smartphone below Rs. 80,000 remains difficult due to limited availability. Among the best options is the Realme 13+, priced between Rs. 72,000 and Rs. 75,000. Despite launching in 2024, it continues to impress with its Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset, 120Hz AMOLED display, support for multiple 5G bands, 80W fast charging, and a 50MP OIS camera.
Samsung also offers two worthy contenders. Galaxy A25, selling for around Rs. 71,000–72,000, focuses on Samsung’s reliable software support rather than raw specifications. It features the Exynos 1280 processor, 50MP camera, 5G connectivity, and 25W charging, although its notch display feels dated compared to rivals.
Buyers with a slightly larger budget should look at the Galaxy A26, which upgrades to the Exynos 1380 chipset while adding a better 50MP OIS camera with an ultra-wide sensor. Despite retaining a notch display and side-mounted fingerprint sensor, the A26’s camera performance is widely regarded as superior to the more expensive Galaxy A36.
