Beneficiaries under Ehsaas Kafalat programme increased to 10m: Sania Nishtar

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar Saturday said the government had decided to increase the number of beneficiaries under Ehsaas Kafalat Programme from 7 million to 10 million.

Addressing the post budget press conference along with Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin, Dr Sania said the government had taken four measures to provide maximum facilities to the beneficiaries under Ehsaas Kafalat Programme.

First, she said the biannual cash disbursement was being increased from Rs 12000 to Rs 13000 and the next disbursement in January 2022 would be amounted to Rs 13000.

Further, she said the beneficiaries would now be able to withdraw their amount from any of the bank through ATM.

The SAPM said a facility of appeal was being given to the people who were not included in the survey but still they consider themselves as the deserving families.
