The Ambassador of Belgium to Islamabad Mr. Philippe Bronchain on Thursday has said that Sialkot was the export hub of Pakistan because of its highly vibrant, hardworking and industrious business community who had been effectively playing their role for the progress of the export related industrial sector in the country.

He said this while addressing the local industrialists and exporters at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here.

The Trade Commissioner Abid Hsain, SCCCI senior vice president Sheikh Zohaib Sethi, vice president Qasim Malik and, SCCI former senior vice president Khurram Aslam Butt and others were also present on the occasion.

Mr. Philippe Bronchain further said that bilateral relations between Belgium and Pakistan had been strengthening steadily with the passing time but still there was ample room to further enhance bilateral trade ties.

He urged for the need to promote business-to-business relations between both the countries in order to promote bilateral trade.

He invited local investors to come and enjoy highly beneficial investment opportunities in Belgium.

He was of the view that the sector of education could be a great vehicle to further improve bilateral trade ties as scores of Pakistani youngsters were busy in studying education institutions in Belgium.

The Trade Commissioner Abid Hsain in his speech said that the astounding urge to export was one of the major commonalities in Sialkot and Belgium.

He said also that Belgium was not only the 4th largest trade partner of Pakistan in the European Union but also the geographical heart of Europe which could be proved as an excellent gateway to the markets of Germany, Netherlands, France and other countries for the products manufactured by Sialkot-based small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs).

He stated further that the Sialkot based business community must come forward to benefit from the highly conducive opportunities of investment and business in Belgium.
