Sri Lanka’s “dropped” coach Chandika Hathurusingha is likely to be interviewed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) within next two days, it is learnt here.
According to the sources in Dhaka, Hathu may not be required to travel to Bangladesh but can appear via video conference as he has worked with the team in the past.
Though he has been shortlisted for the interview and president Nazam Pappon’s favourite , few directors have still expressed concerns because he had left the Bangladesh team half way to take over Sri Lanka role.
Despite repeated attempts, Hathu didn’t respond to this reporter calls. In the meantime, Russell Domingo, who too was shortlisted by the SLC, traveled to Bangladesh on Wednesday and gave impressive presentation.
Former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson and Zimbabwe’s Grant Flower may also be asked for the presentation by the BCB before the final decision is a made. After leaving the PCB job, Flower is all in demands.
