British American Tobacco (BAT) has been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the 18th consecutive year and has once again been named as industry leader in the DJSI’s most prestigious World Index. Created jointly by S&P Dow Jones Indices and Robeco SAM, the DJSI represents the gold standard for tracking corporate sustainability performance of the world’s largest companies. BAT achieved industry-best scores in 11 out of the 21 categories, including Supply Chain Management, Human Rights, and Labour Practice Indicators; highlighting the company’s commitment to respecting the rights of our employees, the people we work with and the communities in which we operate. The company has also achieved a maximum 100 per cent rating in four categories, including Environmental Reporting, Environmental Policy and Management Systems and Operational Eco-Efficiency, as well as a score of 98 in Climate Strategy; a credit to BAT’s efforts in promoting excellence in environmental management.
