Spokesperson for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Sunday that if Prime Minister Imran Khan was so sure that his numbers were complete then why he was barring his members of the National Assembly (MNAs) from visiting the assembly on the day the no-confidence motion had to be tabled against him.

“It is an act of high treason since it is laid down under article 6 of the constitution,” she opined. She further said that under article 17, no citizen, whether member of parliament (MP) or an ordinary person could be asked not to participate in politics. “Participating in political activities and giving his or her opinion is the fundamental right of an MP,” she added.

She claimed that not only the MNAs would turn up on the big day, but would also vote for the no-trust move.—INP
