Banking has undergone major changes in recent years as the majority of users are doing transactions, managing cards and other things using Banking Apps, but the whole thing now enters a more convenient phase as users can access all these features through WhatsApp.
Imagine checking your bank balance, viewing your statement, managing your cards or even transferring money, without opening Banking App as commercial banks started rolling out WhatsApp Banking service, bringing a range of everyday banking facilities directly into the messaging platform millions of people already use.
WhatsApp Banking
Faisal Bank’s WhatsApp Banking service allows registered customers to carry out several routine banking activities through chat. Customers can check their account balance and view account and Noor Card statements, while also managing their debit and Noor Cards.
If you need an additional card, you can request one through the service. Cards can also be blocked or unblocked when necessary. The service goes beyond basic account information.
Customers can also transfer funds through WhatsApp, with the maximum transfer limit potentially reaching Rs2.5 million, depending on the transaction limits configured through the bank’s mobile app.
Users can also register complaints, update their contact information and obtain various account-related certificates without necessarily visiting a branch.
Branches, ATMs and Discounts
WhatsApp service is not limited to financial transactions. Customers can use it to locate nearby branches and ATMs, while the platform also provides information about Bank’s deals and discounts. This means a service originally designed for messaging is increasingly being turned into a one-stop digital gateway for routine banking needs.

There is another interesting aspect of WhatsApp Banking service. People who do not have a Faisal Bank account can still access certain non-financial services through the platform. These include finding branches, obtaining IBAN information, and checking available information, deals and discounts.
For overseas Pakistanis, the service also offers access to certain facilities for customers holding Roshan Digital Accounts.
While convenience is at the heart of WhatsApp Banking, security remains equally important when financial transactions are involved, but WhatsApp conversations are protected through end-to-end encryption.
For sensitive activities such as fund transfers, customers are required to complete authentication through the bank’s digital banking mobile application, adding another layer of protection to the process.
The bank also advises customers to delete their WhatsApp chat history after completing transactions to help reduce the risk of fraud through mobile devices.
Banking in Pakistan is gradually moving beyond traditional branches and standalone mobile applications. Instead of repeatedly opening an app, entering usernames and passwords and navigating through multiple menus, customers can now access several routine services through a platform they already use every day.
With smartphone and internet usage continuing to expand across Pakistan, chat-based banking could become an increasingly important part of the country’s digital financial ecosystem.
