LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 119 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises during operations in different areas of Lahore on Wednesday.
LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 25 businesses in New Muslim Town and in the surroundings of Canal Bank Road, 28 in Allama Iqbal Town, 32 in Wapda Town, Nespak Society and Township, and 34 in Gulberg and New Garden Town for illegal commercial use.
The sealed premises include Bank Alfalah, Pips School System, Rana Academy, Supreme Pharmacy, marriage hall, café, restaurants, beauty parlors, grocery stores, private offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
According to the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of parking bylaws, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
