SYLHET – Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 78 runs in the second Test at Sylhet, completing a 2-0 series whitewash on Wednesday.
On the fifth day, Pakistan began their chase of 437 runs at 316 for 7, needing 121 more for victory.
Mohammad Rizwan (94) and Sajid Khan (28) tried to resist, but the team was bowled out for 358. Captain Shan Masood and Salman Agha scored 71 each, Babar Azam made 47, Azan Owais 21, Abdullah Fazal and Saud Shakeel 6 each, while Hasan Ali and Khurram Shehzad failed to score.

For Bangladesh, Taijul Islam took 6 wickets, Nahid Rana 2, and Shorif Islam and Mahdi Hasan claimed 1 wicket each.
The victory sees Bangladesh move up to fifth on the World Test Championship standings with a win-loss percentage of 58.33 percent, surpassing India who drop to sixth.
