Peshawar’s district administration on Tuesday imposed a ban on pillion riding and displaying weapons across the district for 30 days. The directions for imposing Section 114 Code of Criminal Procedure was issued following a request by the senior superintendent police Peshawar.
‘The deputy commissioner Peshawar in exercise of power conferred on me under section 144 Cr.P.C, do hereby order and impose a ban on display or weapons and pillion riding,’ read a notification issued on Tuesday morning. The notification also noted that anyone found violating the law would be proceeded against under section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
