Ban imposed on pillion riding, aerial firing on New Year night

The Government of Sindh under Section 144 (6) Cr.PC, has imposed complete ban on carrying/display of arms, aerial firing, fire crackers and pillion riding from 31 December, 2019 till the morning of January 01, 2020 within the Karachi Division.
The ban is imposed to maintain law and order within the Karachi Division and to avoid any untoward incident, on the occasion of the new year celebrations, said a statement on Monday.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of the police stations concerned are authorized to register the complaints under Section 188 PPC in writing for the violation of Section 144 Cr.PC against the violators.
Chief Traffic Officer has directed ‘anti-one wheeling’ squad of city traffic police to take action in the city against one wheeling on new year night. He said that one wheeling could cause death of youngsters,besides causing life time disability. She urged parents to be strict in order to protect their lives. She directed officers concerned to create awareness among masses about the consequences of one wheeling and urged citizens to cooperate with city traffic police.
The South and West districts administration have also chalked out comprehensive security plan for the New Year celebration. The handout elaborated that people involved in hooliganism, aerial firing and wheeling would be dealt with serious action. The District police officer urged all station house officers (SHOs across the district) to leave no stone unturned in maintaining law and order . He directed to ensure foolproof security measures in commercial areas.
Also, the senior police official instructed the traffic authorities to ensure smooth traffic on the New Year night. Special teams have also been constituted to monitor and supervise the traffic system. DPO also stressed upon citizens to immediately inform police in case of any suspicious people or suspicious activities in their surroundings.
