CM takes notice of increase in food prices
Balochistan Government has decided to provide flour and other edible items to the people in all the districts of the province on subsidized rates. The decision to this effect was made by Price Control Committee which met in Quetta today with Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo in the chair.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister has taken stern notice of self-imposed increase in food prices in the province. He directed the concerned authorities to take strict action against the profiteers and stockists. He also advised to ensure provision of quality food items at fixed rates to the people during the holy month.
The Chief Minister also instructed the administration of all the districts to take steps to maintain the prices and establishment of Sasta Bazaars in their respective districts. On the other hand eleven shopkeepers were held on Tuesday for profiteering during a raid conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Quetta City, Farooq Abdullah.
AC City, Quetta paid a surprise visit to Brewery Road and Joint Road of the provincial capital wherein he checked the prices of the edibles including meat, wheat and vegetables. rate list of the edibles duly authorized by the administration at prominent places of their shops.
