Balochistan budget for FY2024-25 to be presented today

QUETTA – Balochistan is all set to unveil its provincial budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 on June 21, today.

Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib will present a budget exceeding Rs800 billion.

The sources said that over Rs100 billion would be allocated for education while Rs61 billion would be designated for health.

The employee salaries would be increased according to the federal government’s formula.

The Balochistan Assembly session would commence at 4 pm today.

In preparation for this event, a provincial cabinet meeting to discuss the budget details would also take place on the same day.

According to the Finance department, the budget session of the Balochistan Assembly is scheduled to run from June 21 to 29.

In addition to the main budget presentation, the supplementary budget for the current fiscal year would also be presented and subsequently approved during this session.

A debate on the proposed budget for the upcoming financial year will begin on June 24. The Finance Department expects rigorous discussions between government and opposition members, leading to the budget’s final approval.
