Bahria University hosts international conference on Allama Iqbal

Bahria University organized International Conference on Iqbal. The theme of the conference was “Iqbal’s Multi-Dimensional Wisdom: his Vision for the Social, Scientific and Technological Revival of the Ummah”.

The Chief Guest in the Inaugural Session the President Dr. Arif Alvi. The dignitaries as well as key note speakers included Senator Walid Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Ambassador of Turkey Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Arif Usmanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov, and Ambassador of Indonesia Adam Mulawarman Tugio also attended conference.

Main objective of the conference was to actively explore different aspects of Iqbal’s multidimensional philosophy for practical incorporation of its recommendations in the development of social and technological educational curricula.

During the inaugural address, the Chief Guest President Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized that the success of the Islamic world and particularly Pakistan lies in decoding the message of Allamah Muhammad Iqbal in its true spirit.

The President added that the Pakistani nation presently has no other option but to focus on scientific knowledge to make its mark in the rapidly changing world.

He further added that Iqbal’s vision of justice and morality needed to prevail in the world, where India’s acts of atrocities were being ignored in view of economic gains.

During the conference, various national and international speakers and various dignitaries spoke on the occasion.

In the welcome address, the Rector Bahria University elaborated that Bahria is committed to spread Iqbal’s message both within the university as well as to the masses and this yearly conference is one such initiative.

He emphasized that Allamah Muhammad Iqbal not only focused on the spiritual development but also urged Ummah for scientific and technological development.
