Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari on Monday congratulated the PML-N leadership and workers on the victory of PML-N candidate Munir Iqbal Channar in the Bahawalpur by-election, saying the result reflected public confidence in the party. In a statement, Azma Bokhari said the people of Bahawalpur had once again expressed confidence in the PML-N, while Munir Iqbal Channar’s victory by a margin of 39,000 votes was an acknowledgment of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz’s performance.
She said that after the 2024 general elections, the PML-N, under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, had won all by-elections in Punjab with substantial margins. The people of Punjab were satisfied with the performance of CM Maryam Nawaz, she added.
The Punjab Information Minister said people were supporting public welfare initiatives including electric buses, laptops, scholarships, Green Tractors and the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme. She added that electric bikes, electric vehicles, Suthra Punjab and initiatives for beautification of cities were also receiving public support.
Azma Bokhari said examples of development, public service and good governance were being set in Punjab, adding that Maryam Nawaz’s style of governance had become an example for other provinces.
She said some people still considered chaos and disorder to be the essence of politics, but the people of Pakistan had grown tired of the politics of crowds and agitation.
