The authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have banned Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir for five years under the black law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA)
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian Home Minister Amit Shah in a post on the social media platform “X” said the organization is involved in the prohibited activities of secession of Jammu and Kashmir from India and is involved in the prohibited activities of establishing Islamic rule.
He said this group is continuing anti-India propaganda and terrorist activities to fuel separatism in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that under Prime Minister Modi’s zero tolerance policy against terrorism, any person or organization found involved in anti-India activities would be stopped immediately.
It should be mentioned that the authorities had already banned Democratic Freedom Party, Jamaat-e-Islami, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League to suppress the Kashmir freedom movement in the occupied territory.—KMS
