In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM), Khawaja Firdous has said that the occupation authorities are illegally giving state subjects to Indian nationals to change the population ratio of the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Khawaja Firdous in a statement issued in Srinagar said that under a well-thought-out plan, the Indian government was following agenda of the RSS and Hindutva to change the Muslim majority status of the territory into a minority.
He said the Indian authorities, on one hand, grant citizenship to a large number of non-Kashmiris and on the other, they are committing genocide of the Kashmiris. Khawaja Firdous deplored that thousands of innocent Kashmiris had been languishing in different jails of India and the territory, adding that coronavirus had spread on a large scale in these jails. He said that India was deliberately endangering the lives of Kashmiri detainees in jails.
The Hurriyat leader urged the international community to take sensitivity of the Kashmir dispute into account and put pressure on India to stoop rights violations in the territory and resolve the dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
India’s stubborn policy is the biggest obstacle in settlement of the Kashmir dispute, he added.
Khawaja Firdous said that Pakistan had been playing its role for the solution of the Kashmir dispute from day one because Pakistan’s policy on Kashmir is clear that only the solution of this issue will bring lasting peace in the region.
He said that the Kashmiri people were grateful to Pakistan for its continued moral, political and diplomatic support.—KMS
