SYDNEY – Australian women cricketers experienced a moment of panic when a rat appeared in the hotel dining area during their stay in India for the Women’s Cricket World Cup.
The incident occurred at a hotel in Visakhapatnam where the players were having dinner.
According to reports, the team members were startled when they suddenly noticed a rat near their dining table. The unexpected sight caused chaos, with some players screaming and jumping onto chairs to avoid the rodent.
Hotel staff rushed to the scene and attempted to catch the rat, but it continued to run around the room, further adding to the commotion.
Cricket Australia later shared a lighthearted video in which players described the incident, saying they had just finished dinner and were about to leave when the rat suddenly appeared.
“We thought it had gone, but it came back again, and everyone screamed,” one player recounted.
The incident has sparked questions over the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the hotel where the Australian team is staying during the tournament.
