Aurangzeb instructs admin to monitor flood situation regularly

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in which Provincial Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee for Disaster Management Khawaja Salman Rafique attended the meeting. Member National Assembly Rana Atiq Anwar, Member Punjab Assembly Ashraf Rasool, Member Punjab Assembly Ahmed Ahsan, Secretary Emergency Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer, DG WASA, DG PDMA, Commissioner Lahore, DC Lahore, Commissioner Gujranwala Division, DC Sheikhupura, DC Narowal and other officers attended the meeting. The senior minister took a detailed review of the possible flood situation and the preparations made by the administration. Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb directed the administration to remain alert for food, animal fodder, rescue and other preparations.

On this occasion, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is herself monitoring the possible flood situation.

The administration has been directed to remain alert and to immediately transfer funds to the concerned districts. The flow of water in the rivers should be continuously monitored. Staff of Rescue 1122, Health Department, Livestock and other related departments were present at the flood relief camps 24 hours a day. All the related institutions should complete advance arrangements under the alerts of PDMA Punjab. There is no scope for negligence or irresponsibility from the clear instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The situation is being monitored moment by moment from the emergency control room. Record rainfall occurred in Punjab and drainage was ensured in record time.

Provincial Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee for Disaster Management Khawaja Salman Rafique said on this occasion that all the relevant departments should remain on full alert to protect the lives and property of the people. Instructions have been given to ensure timely and effective response in case of possible flood situation.

Instructions have also been given to provide timely information and all possible facilities to the citizens.
